It’s about time!
The fellas over at Ubisoft have thought long and hard about this decision. For fourteen years they have pondered, ‘What will our next logo design be?’ Well folks, their brand new logo is… a swirl! As you can see in the image above, it’s a little different to the other one. This one has edges! It’s fantastic!
They’ve obviously put a lot of effort into this logo. They’ve used those fourteen years, with one thought in mind: perfection. Now, there are many factors that make up perfection. Firstly, perfection is a very subjective thing; not all people like the same features. Some people like straight lines, some people like curves, and everyone has a different taste in colour. There’s something in Ubisoft’s new swirl for everyone! There are straight lines where the ends of the swirl are, 90% of the logo is curvy, and since it takes up a more modern, minimalist style, you can make the logo whatever colour your heart desires!

You may be wondering, ‘Author of Games Worth Buying, how will this logo affect me in any way shape or form?’ And to you I say that it’s entirely up to you how this affects you! Of course, it’ll show up in every Ubisoft game from now on, but it’s completely your decision whether you will pay attention to this change!

Today, we create worlds – worlds that live as video games, comics, movies, TV shows, books, and amusement park rides. Our new logo is minimalist, modern and monochromatic. It’s a window into our worlds, giving a preview of what’s to come by highlighting the artistry that goes into creating them. The swirl and the letter O are both deliberately created to be reminiscent of hand-drawn shapes and represent our human qualities of enthusiasm, curiosity and the grain de folie that Ubisoft is known for.
