There’s a glitch in the frontier! Or rather, some DLC for Titanfall 2 [official site] called that.
The free expansion will launch on April 25th, next Tuesday, and will include two maps, a new faction, a new game mode, and a few other nifty things. Check out the badass trailer:
The first of the two maps is Glitch, a ‘medium-sized map designed for objective modes and inspired by Captain Lastimosa’s home planet of Harmony’. From watching the trailer, it’s likely safe to suppose that most matches will be dominated by pilots wall running and grappling, as opposed to powerful titan play. That’s not to say that titans won’t play a big part in how the matches pan out, but it’ll be drastically harder to kill multiple people at the same time who are leaping from curved wall to curved wall like majestic cats.
The second area to battle it out in is Deck, a small-ish Live Fire exclusive which holds a few buildings and tight spaces and many, many open areas to be shot at in. We weren’t given as big of a showcase in the trailer, but I think we all get the gist of the map.
A full M.R.V.N. faction will be added, as in the harmless robots that you could make very sad by hitting or stealing guns from. The game’s main menu is going to be ‘spruced up a bit’, you’ll be able to gen to 100 (with new icons for your callsign every ten), players will be given the opportunity to pick between prime or regular titan executions, Live Fire will be playable in private matches, and a new stylish execution called ‘Get to the Point’ will be available to use.
No doubt there will be a variety of other different tweaks and fixes added to the game upon the deployment of A Glitch in the Frontier, but those are the main ones. I’ll definitely be playing Titanfall 2 when the content drops.
