That is absolutely right, Rainbow Six: Siege [official site] is free all weekend.
From now on you’re able to pick up a free copy of the full game, which will stay licensed until the end of the weekend (at which point you’ll need to purchase a full copy of the game if you wish to continue playing). Unlike many other free weekend events, you will have access to earn and unlock all of the content within the game, such as weapon skins and operators.
The game is also discounted by 50% on Steam until February 7, making the game US$25.
Console users will require PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold for the respective systems in order to play, while the PC version is available on Uplay and Steam for free.
Ubisoft have teased the new Velvet Shell operator!
As well as that, yesterday the second of the two new Spanish G.E.O Rainbow Six: Siege operators, Mira, has been teased (as you can see in the video above). She appears to plant an explosive device on a wall that extends horizontally, then it explodes. Some commenters on the original YouTube video claim they can see one-way glass as the smoke clears, which would be a very powerful character to have on your team, especially if the glass was bulletproof.
Many comments also state that the operator is going to be a defender, based on what weapon Mira is holding and the way the reinforced walls are facing. All should be clear after Six Invitational over the weekend.
